Application of Microwave Sterilization in Medicine

In nature, there are a lot of microscopic organisms. People cannot see them with the naked eye. If you want to observe them, you need to use the microscope. These micro-organisms are always called microorganisms.

Common microorganisms are bacteria, viruses and fungi. Bacteria will produce a large number of metabolites in growth and reproduction.

Some metabolites are harmful to the human body. These harmful metabolites will lead to life sickness in the human body. Therefore, sterilization of drugs is necessary.

Microwave refers to the electromagnetic waves which frequency between 30~3000mhz. Water can absorb the microwave strongly, make its polar molecule rotate. Molecules heat up and warm up by friction, so the bacteria can be killed.

In a few seconds, water could be heated to 100~150℃. And all the microorganisms in the liquid would be killed. Microwave technology suitable for the sterilization of water-soluble injection.

In addition, solid medicinal pieces and solid preparations (pills, powder, capsules, etc.) also contain a small amount of water. Microwaves can penetrate into the solid.  The soild would be heated from the inside out. Then the soild could be dried and sterilized.

Microwave technology is used in the sterilization of oral liquid. And it is expected to be used in the sterilization of injection.
